"Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died.... Isaac's servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there!"
Our hearts are stirred with hope and excitement as we get ready to board a bus tonight for Dresden, Germany from Dartford,London. This is a 20hr bus ride PLUS more hours on a train from Dresden to Zittau and then a car ride from Zittau to our final destination Herrnhut, Germany. For those of you who don't know much about the rich revival history of Herrnhut, I strongly recommend that you look it up and you won't be disappointed! One of the biggest Revivals in history broke out in Herrnhut Germany on the 13th of August, 1727 when Count Nicholas Zinzendorf led the Moravians to come together in unity and love and to put aside all quarreling and disagreements that was going on among the Moravians in their refugee colonies, (originally from Bohemia) at that time. The result of this coming together was a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit like no one had ever seen before which launched 100 years of non-stop Worship & Prayer and within 25 years, 100 Moravians were sent out from that little town to different parts of the world as missionaries! Some even sold themselves into slavery so they could witness to the slaves!!!! The Wesley brothers, John & Charles were encountered by some of these powerful, radical, Spirit filled Moravians on a ship during one of their journeys which later led to the Wesley brothers working together with the Moravians and learning more from them which catapulted the Wesleys to birth the Methodist movement!
The Herrnhut Revival is also known as 'The Moravian Revival' or ' The Modern Pentecost'. When the Holy Spirit fell powerfully upon the people gathered in Herrnhut on Aug 13th, it was later reported that 'No one knew if they were in Heaven or on Earth! Self-love and self-will, as well as all disobedience immediately disappeared and an overwhelming flood of grace swept everyone out into a great ocean of Divine Love. Count Zinzendorf described it as a 'Sense of the nearness of Christ' given to everyone present, and also to others of their community who were working elsewhere at the time!"
So here we are, 287 years later, taking crazy bus rides and trains, to retrace these steps of Revival & Reformation, to find "fresh water" again, just like Isaac did in Genesis 26 (see verse above). Our mission is to simply release Worship & prayer and to flow with the Holy Spirit, re-digging these ancient wells (digging some new wells too), breaking traditions and religious spirits that has come in the way, to declare and decree what the Lord speaks through this time of Worship and to establish His Presence and spread His fragrance everywhere we go! Melodies of heaven will be released over the darkest places and atmospheres will be shifted with the glory of the Living GOD. The good news will be preached and JESUS will receive all the glory, honor & praise !!! This is what Reformation2014 is all about! We are connecting and working together with the local churches, missionaries and the global worship movement BURN24-7.
Prayer precedes Pentecost! The young German nobleman Count Zinzendorf who led the Moravian revival was a man of Prayer. He pleaded for unity, love and repentance. Converted in early childhood, at just four years of age, he composed and signed a covenant: "Dear Savior, do Thou be mine and I will be Thine." His life motto was 'I have one passion: it is Jesus, Jesus only!" Staring at a painting of the crucifixion in the Dusseldorf gallery, Zinzendorf was deeply moved when he read the words below the painting : "This have I done for thee; What hast thou done for me?"
Fellow saints, friends, & family: As we celebrate the death and resurrection life of our Lord Jesus this weekend, may our hearts be possessed with His presence and moved to action to do greater things for Him in the days ahead. The days of Revival is not a past thing. It is HERE & NOW! We are living in the last days where God is sweeping across the Nations with a new song everyday! Songs of Hope and songs of Love are being released all over the world, bringing the lost into the Kingdom of God. He is so worthy and there is no one on earth or in heaven like Him! He is truly worthy of a 20+ hr bus ride and more !!!! Even as you read this blog, there is a song that is being sung right above us, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." Day and Night the angels never stop singing and the 24 elders bow low in Worship, casting down their golden crowns, to the One who sits on the Throne!
As we continue to journey with the Lord, we are grateful for everyone who has come alongside on this mission with us with your valuable prayers and financial support. We love and appreciate you all more than you will ever know. Join us with the song of heaven as we go after this "fresh water", singing over cities and nations, re-digging ancient wells and declaring the goodness of the 'Ancient of Days!" Let this be our prayer: "Awake, awake, arm of the Lord, clothe yourself with strength! Awake, as in the days gone by, as in generations of old!" (Isa 51:9)
Forsaking it all, to know & love Him more
